More refugees wash up on Canada’s shore. Can we push them back in the ocean?

VICTORIA–The 76 men discovered on board a vessel off the coast of British Columbia are Tamils seeking asylum in Canada, the Canadian Tamil Congress said Sunday.

The men, of varying ages, were found on board the Ocean Lady, a rusty merchant ship of unknown origins after the RCMP, navy and Canada Border Services Agency received a tip that the vessel was entering Canadian waters.

The ship, with no visible numbers or flags flying, had been tracked since Thursday and was seized Friday by the RCMP.

David Poopalapillai, spokesman for the Canadian Tamil Congress, said he and fellow Tamils in Canada have seen pictures released by the RCMP of the ship’s passengers.

“I’m very much certain on this. I look at their faces and the resemblance is there,” Poopalapillai said. “This has been happening all over the world. Sri Lanka has become hell for Tamils and they have to get out.”

STOP! You have fill out the paperwork and follow the immigration process like everyone else!

(se: Wow.  You know one that that gets me with Canada is that we are so refugee friendly. Where as in the US, illegal aliens rush in from Mexico and live “underground” as illegal immigrants, people come to Canada apply for refugee status and cost us taxpayers millions.  If you did not fill out the paperwork in your country to go through the legit immigration process, you should be booted out.  If you want to be a refugee, you apply from your country.  It’s not like these people floated from Sri Lanka to Canada, it’s not even close.  They could have run across to India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, China, etc. Why Canada?  Because we will let them in, give them money and accommodations to survive and then give them welfare after the Tamil community protests to give them refugee status and let them stay. If you’re a productive member of society and you come here with some sort of skill, or you are willing to learn then maybe you deserve a chance, but many people come here with no skills, and no drive to learn the language, get educated and acquire a skill, and be something.  These guys will eventually get status, work at a restaurant as a busboy getting paid under the table, while getting welfare, and go out and buy a 90’s BMW and bad polyester dress shirts.  You’ll see. Everyone knows about Canada’s free money except Canadians..)
