On the eve of the biggest immunization program in Canadian history, a new poll suggests roughly half of Canadians do not want the H1N1 swine flu vaccine.

According to a Strategic Counsel poll taken for CTV News and The Globe and Mail, 51 per cent of Canadians do not plan on getting vaccinated.

However, 67 per cent of those polled say they believe the vaccine is safe for adults and 59 per cent said the vaccine is safe for children.

The poll, which questioned 1,000 Canadians between Oct. 22-24, suggests most of the country is not overly worried about the H1N1 flu, even if people are taking precautions.

While 63 per cent of respondents say they have taken precautions against the H1N1 swine flu, 67 per cent of respondents say they are only a little worried or not worried at all about catching the flu.

(se: Whoa.  I believe that.  I don’t want to get the shot either.  What kind of testing has been done on this shot? It’s only been on the market as of late, and with H1N1 being under a year old, who knows what could happen.  Maybe you begin to mutate, who knows.

Sure, people are going to die, and a lot of people would be sick, but look at bird flu.  Whatever happened to that? Remember SARS?  Wasn’t that supposed to come back and start wiping out mankind?  I think I will pass on this..)

Hold your own fucking door

This H1N1 bullshit drives me nuts. No one wants to touch anything. I went into a bathroom today and everyone was waiting around for someone else to open the door, no one wanted to touch it. You’d figure someone rubbed AIDS all over the door.

Last week it was all about people using their feet to do through the revolving door, and doing the superman into the elevator to avoid touching the door as it was closing. We’re talking about fully grown business people here.

My latest gripe is people whom you hold the door open for behind you that are supposed to grab the door and hold it open for the people behind them. Instead these people make no effort to grab the door, but rather expect that you’re going to hold it for them like come sort of doorman. You either get the people that stroll along like you’re gonna wait for them, or the people that are on your ass trying to slip in with you.

Hold your own fucking door motherfucker, or you’re going to end up with a face full of door.

Hand Sanitizer bottles WTF ?

So I have two hand sanitizer bottles on my desk. Both have gotten low, and I came to realize that even though they still have about a cm left in the bottom, you cant get any of it out.

I looked at the bottom of these bottles and realized that they have indents so where the straw thingy sits all the actual sanitizer sits around the outside. Why the fuck would they make these like this?  I was thinking that the government covered this up because by inverting the bottoms of these sanitizer bottles they make you buy them earlier. You have to keep buying them and then you get the bird/swine flu, and ebola, all because the government wants to take away your drivers license for running down pedestrians that are illegally taking there sweet ass fucking time jay walking across Chingacousy Rd.

Anyway, it’s a cover up. Check out the bottom of your sanitizer bottles you will see what I mean. That’s all i’m saying ..

Excreted Tamiflu found in rivers If birds hosting flu virus are exposed to the waterborne pollutant, they might develop drug-resistant strains, chemists worry Tamiflu, the primary flu-fighting drug, is getting into surface waters where ducks and other water birds may pick it up. If the birds host influenza viruses, which many normally do, those viruses may develop a resistance to the drug, scientists now worry.

The premier flu-fighting drug is contaminating rivers downstream of sewage-treatment facilities, researchers in Japan confirm. The source: urinary excretion by people taking oseltamivir phosphate, best known as Tamiflu. Concerns are now building that birds, which are natural influenza carriers, are being exposed to waterborne residues of Tamiflu’s active form and might develop and spread drug-resistant strains of seasonal and avian flu.
