Canadians prepare to turn over hospital to U.S.

You missed the free healthcare!
Beginning Thursday, the Role 3 Multinational Hospital at Kandahar Airfield in Afghanistan will be under new management.
The Role 3, which is the main provider of health care at the airfield, will be turned over to the Americans by Canadian medical personnel.
Canada originally agreed to take responsibility for the facility for one year, but that stretched into two years, then three.
But with a large influx of U.S. troops as part of the surge ordered by President Barack Obama, it seems fitting that Canada make the handover now.
Canadian Colonel Danielle Savard, who has been in charge of the hospital, says she is proud of the work her team has done.

(se: I bet this is a cost cutting measure. It’s gone from free health care to you better have insurance. You hear that Afghanistan? In other news, that large *sigh* you just heard was all the Mexicans in line. Sorry guys, you’re being turned away again… Glad to see the Taliban hasn’t blown it up yet though..)
